What is COM:POST - Turning green waste into growth

The COM:POST system takes your weekly green waste and turns it into reusable compost. The whole system consists of four steps. Step 1 – Sign up to start composting
Florists register on the COM:POST website. Hoek and COM:POST will give all new clients a free two month trial. Have a look in the COM:POST page to see the monthly rates thereafter. Using COM:POST’s service is not only good for the planet but good for your business, as florists save money compared to using other waste removal routes.
Upon your subscription, COM:POST delivers your first COM:POST pack as well as 20 compostable bags directly to your shop or premises. Now you can put all the green waste you’ve acquired after conditioning, or after you’ve designed a wedding or event in the bags.
Step 2 – The collection of your compost
After you’ve filled the compostable paper bags with your green waste, it is time for the collection. We as Hoek flowers will collect the full bags with your next order. The same way as we collect our sustainable boxes from our florists. So you don’t have to think about how to dispose of your green waste.
Step 3 – The process of composting
After we’ve collected your bags filled with green waste, they get taken to our respective hubs where we have a bulk bin for the collection of the full bags. COM:POST then liaise with their composting partner who takes care of the rest. It takes up to 16 weeks to turn all green waste into rich, nutrient filled compost.

The difference is all in the bag! COM:POST offers 140-litre compostable, waterproof paper sacks that are strong, light, easy to use, and designed as a catalyst to speed up the composting process.
